I suppose they got the attention they were looking for, and I'm very sympathetic to their message, but what does putting soup on a centuries-dead Dutch artist's painting of flowers have anything to do with anything? I think it would have been more impactful had they thrown soup on a BP executive or glued themselves to an oil tanker or something. I just don't get what the action has to do with the message. I'm confused.
