There's a correspondent named Paul Salopek walking around the world and writing/shooting it for National Geographic. He started in Africa and he is currently in Asia, headed northeast. His final destination is Tierra del Fuego. I follow him on Twitter and it's very interesting seeing the pictures (mostly in rural areas) and understanding how he does it (he has locals walking with him on each leg).
