If Paul Le Roux was still free he would probably live in one of these towers.
The culture of Dubai is the antithesis of what it means to be a good human being. It's one of the few places gig economy startups are profitable, simply because human trafficking is everywhere. This is a place without walkable sidewalks or any semblance of public transit.
- matija_matija 4y agoDubai has its issues with using cheap labor from low-income countries. But I wouldn't go as far as saying "antithesis of what it means to be a good human being". The walkability and public transit point are not as good as in most European cities. But some areas, such as Dubai Marina and Downtown, are not far off. If we compare it to the US, it is much better. Considering that you can't go anywhere without a car in most US cities. Public transit is actually pretty good. Metro is surprisingly cheap, fast, clean and safe. At the same time, the taxi system is very straightforward, standardized and reasonably priced.
