As a silver lining, because we’ve normalized firing, we’ve also normalized jumping ship frequently.
Get hikes and save up during good times, skill dev/change course during the recessions.
But tbh it’d be better if things didn’t swing so much.
- kioleanu 4y agoI jumped ship quite often in Europe myself, without any problems - 8 or 9 employers in the last 15 years. I think being able to switch between jobs like this is a sign of a competitive job market and not necessarily a by-product of normalized firing
