The only good public Discord server I ever found was "Together C & C++", about those programming languages with very positive senior members and good moderation. I am not exaggerating when I say every other public server I've ever joined has been filled with Nazis. Literally dudes posting racist memes and actual NSDAP flags on the wall in the selfies channel. Avoid Discord, it's a garbage fire.
