I strongly believe in the next five years *product engineers* will become the most adaptable, hireable and valuable employees in fast moving software orgs. Admittedly not startups. Full-stack engineers are so 2018, and at this point anyone worth their salt doesn't trust that full-stack engineers actually know the entire stack or the exact stack that's best for your company. Better off being a generalist with some backend knowhow and ability to write borderline JS. PM's with a technical background are hugely influential - however I think we as an industry need to start shunning MBA's.
