It's because you haven't purchased fancy clothes that fit. There are probably some other constraints that produced this outcome (e.g., cost, availability), but I'm skeptical that optimizing for fanciness did it.

- ihateolives 4y agoHave you ever had proper leather shoes custom made to fit? It's amazing. It puzzles me that people are willing to go lengths to get tailored shirt and suit, but then wear off the shelf shoes that are not even feet shaped when you think about it.
- e40 4y agoWhere to get them?
- ihateolives 4y agoI'm not in US so can't recommend any particular shoemakers. Google hand made / bespoke / made to measure shoes. Important is to find a shoemaker that will actually measure your foot, not just have you select template and size. Searching for "custom shoes" will not give you shoemakers, but just companies that let you to select materials, soles, colors, finish etc, but do not take into account your real foot shape.
- bearmode 4y agoThe difference between cheap dress shoes and mid-range dress shoes is unbelievable. The difference between mid-range dress shoes and expensive dress shoes is bigger still. They genuinely can be really comfortable.
- cafard 4y agoI don't think the Ecco shoes are really what the GQ crowd has in mind, but I do turn up at weddings wearing them, and I find them comfortable to walk in.
