SpaceX Sells 82-Year-Old Billionaire a Starship Ride Around the Moon
- dingosity 4y agoAre they offereing to return Tito back to the Earth or is that an optional extra?
- tuatoru 4y agoAlso, are the tickets transferable? (For his will.)
- oblib 4y agoHmmm... I was looking into global poverty yesterday and came across this: Some figures from the United Nations Development Programme [*]: More than a billion people live with less than a dollar per day. 2.8 billion people, that is to say almost half of the global population, live with less than 2 dollars per day. 448 million children are underweight. 876 million adults are illiterate, two thirds of which are women. Every day, 30,000 children under 5 die from avoidable diseases. More than a billion people don’t have access to healthy water. 20% of the global population have 90% of the wealth. I know the cost of a ride around the moon doesn't solve that, but it sure feels selfish when I think about it. * https://www.atd-fourthworld.org/who-we-are/faq/how-many-people-living-in-poverty-are-there/ https://www.atd-fourthworld.org/who-we-are/faq/how-many-peop...
- sva_ 4y agoI do not think that due to the fact that poverty exists, we should stop scientific advances.
- the-printer 4y agoIs that what this is being called?
- wmf 4y agoThis is tourism but it's funding SpaceX.
- m463 4y agoThe title seems a little like clickbait. I think it would have a different sentiment with: "private space travel extends around moon" "space tourist Dennis Tito now to travel around moon" "Anika Tito to be first private female space traveler" etc..
