At least in the short term I think they are being more worried about getting shut down by the FCC. They have to fight even for the Supernatural acquisition where they subpoenad SimulaVR to appear as a witness for making their point that they don't have a monopoly (that's like Google pointing at the Librem 5 to show that there are alternatives to their Android phones) So I don't expect that happening anytime soon and a lot of alternatives will pop up, which should boost any non platform locked "Metaverses" over the alternative
