Watching Der8auer's review[1], the performance for power curve is awfully wonky. I would happily tune this card down to 70% or even 60% of the power target for a very minimal performance loss, totally acceptable to me for the efficiency gain. I wonder what allowance 3rd parties have to detune these cards, and perhaps produce a 4090 with a more modest cooling solution suited to a ~300W power level, maybe making a 2 or 2.5 slot size card, rather than the current monster cards we're seeing.
