Absolutely! Like I'd posit that many of us learnt Chess from an adult. Not many kids pick this up themselves, without an initial introduction. I think another issue is that we expect parents to be able to introduce kids to advanced topics. What happens when you get a brilliant kid with no access to education outside of the classroom? More often than not at least a few years of missed accelerated learning.
