With the amount of soot kicked up, recent (2018?) simulations show the entire Northern Hemisphere will get dark, nothing will grow for 5-10 years, and the great plains will be colder by 100(F) degrees (admittedly the worst, but most other places are 60-80 degrees colder.
Go south, quickly. Mexico fares okay, but everything in the southern hemisphere does much better.
