This one part that really undermines the asylum process. I knew someone who interviewed refugees in an African nation to evaluate them for asylum in the USA. The seekers has to relive their traumas in multiple rounds of interviews. Any deviation in their stories would disqualify you. Any number of seemingly minor things could disqualify you. If you ever held a gun, you were disqualified. It seems very cruel to the seekers, and was an extremely heavy burden on the interviewer. Imagine ever box you check having life altering implications.
