Small business needs a different sort of software developer

I built a career working as a sole programmer in a small operation. Such jobs do require a lot more domain knowledge (as opposed to programming knowledge) as the article pointed out. I'm retired now, but would like to get back into it some. How in the world do you find such jobs though?

In your case I think you would have to take a different approach. How can I get customers?
