I learned OO way back on Turbo Pascal, which came with a good tutorial on it. The fundamentals at least are pretty simple. However, the way it's used these days - layers upon layers of (often unnecessary) abstraction and indirection - nobody really groks that. It's just the way it's done, even if it doesn't make any sense. No need to feel bad about not understanding that.
