A lot of staff was let go due to the pandemic, seemingly with airport management believing they’d just be able to rehire them in a jiffy afterwards. Turns out people go and find other jobs and might not be willing to come back to you in the first place. Add the summer and winter holiday seasons to that and you’ve got a massive clusterfuck on your hands for both airlines and passengers.
