Seems like the research should be focused on behavior of neutron heavy isotopes in metallic lattices rather than trying to see how much fusion gain is happening or not happening. Like why is there the 100X amount of neutrons coming out compared to expected.. super interesting problem.. is the 100X the same for all metals? What about different metals? Doping of metals changes the shape and spacing of the lattice.. could they dope the metal with something to change the lattice spacing then shoot deuterium in after that? Tons of possibilities in the research..
