I think the real question is why didn't Medium do what Substack does? Seems like the logical business move (although maybe it wasn't as obvious when Substack started)
- minimaxir 4y agoMedium tried to cater to specific writers and promoting specific publications even before Substack was a thing, but like most of Medium's initiatives it died due to neglect.
