To be fair, while it's a bonkers idea, the plan would be to divert water from the Old River Control Structure to lessen the flow of water down the Achafalaya. This issue is further upstream.
- readthenotes1 4y agoThe Mississippi at Memphis is extremely narrow--More of 200 m wide river than a mile wide river. Messing with the old river control structure several hundred miles away won't affect that at all
