I have an Amex Platinum card and the few times I've disputed a charge they've usually found in favor of the merchant (particularly if the merchant is a large company). The one notable time they actually found in my favor and refunded me was a recurring charge I'd repeatedly tried to cancel with the merchant and eventually I threatened to close my account with Amex. "Oh, really? Alright, I want to close my account." "Oh, hold on sir, let me try again..." Effing $800/year in annual fees for this crap.
