The annoying thing to me is that every few year or so they switch how they distribute the signal app and don't provide a tool to migrate the old data. Yes I could do it manually by finding and copying their config dir from the old destination to the new one, but that's annoying and their whole selling point is that it'll just work for the kind of user who wouldn't think about that. (I can't remember the exact switches, but if I recall correctly I was notified I needed to switch from a Chrome app to a Snap, then to a Deb, and finally to a Flatpack.)
