The worst issue with pixels for me is the missing HDMI alt mode... in 2022 pixel's still lack the ability to connect a monitor to the phone. Even worse, samsung has samsung dex, and now there is great tech like the nreal air that we're missing out on for no good reason. I've heard rumors that google likely disables hdmi alt mode to protect chromebook sales. I also wasn't able to use the $100 USBC DAC I got for the phone for like 8 months after I first got it. It's a very simple concept to make sure you support an alternative before you deprecate a feature but lo and behold. Next phone I get will definitely not be a pixel. Hopefully the next fairphone will be a tad more competitive, and hopefully by then linux on the fairphone will be more polished. A boy can dream...
