They intend to destroy our lives
- tuatoru 4y agoA video about the noise pollution from on-shore wind turbines.
- Comevius 4y agoWind turbines shouldn't be audible from the distances showed in the video. The noise falls sharply after 300 meters. The shadow flicker can reach up to 1500 meters for the largest rotors, but in the video it affects what looks like a barn, not a house. I'm not sure the lives of these people are really being destroyed. I get that the turbines impact the enjoyment of nature, but so do fossil fuels. Sometimes you can't have everything.
- shakna 4y agoTo expand... Almost all sound emitted by turbines should be infrasound. It should not be audible at all, unless it is in resonance with something else. And infrasound can be detected by measuring gear up to 30km from the original source [0]. If there is anything audible - then the wind turbine is in violation of the sound regulations that is is built within. There are a _lot_ of sound regulations taken into account when they're being built. At the distances shown in the video... There should not be any effect on the people. And it is a well studied area. We are aware of the impacts of infrasound, hence why we regulate things that may emit it. - tomohawk 4y agoBased on what evidence? Have you ever actually been around these turbines IRL? I have and they are absolutely disruptive of the environment.
