If all it takes for a "forgotten" attic gun to be secured is something to trigger those gun owners to take action on securing them, a simple ad campaign would be a lot cheaper than $500 gift cards.

- core-utility 4y agoThe gun buyback surely had ads just to get people to even show up, not yet including the staff time of people working the event and the gift cards.

- kube-system 4y agoLocal news typically covers "community events" like these as a matter of news, rather than advertisement. Whereas PSAs are paid.
- kube-system 4y agoI wouldn't expect a $21,000 ad campaign to have much effect either.
