The issue here isn't guns though, sadly. Most of the violence from homeless mentally ill folks isn't gun violence. Walking around SF, I (a regular looking guy) have been accosted multiple times. Its legitimately frightening, and would be so much worse if I was elderly or disabled or otherwise unable to defend myself.
