There is a mathematical certainty implied here that I believe many people here can understand. Compounding interest is exponential. We are borrowing money to pay the interest, this will continue until something breaks.
- standardUser 4y agoFirst, the government services its debt, it doesn't let interest accrue perpetually. Second, inflation continually pushes the value of debt down over time. Third, the US economy continues to grow, which allows for increased government revenue which allows for servicing an increasingly large debt.
