- DemocracyFTW2 4y agoRidiculous solutionism. It's like the hiding-the-cigarettes-trick in The Seven Year Itch where the guy puts his cigarettes into a small box which he then locks, keeping the key in ever more ridiculously hard-to-get-at spots. Only to then retrieve them from wherever he hid the keys when addiction overcomes him anyway.
- DemocracyFTW2 4y agoOr, to expand on that: if you're smart enough to hide the keys to your addiction in a good place or to set the timers on the kitchensafe boxes, there's a part of your brain that knows how to subvert those measures, and it likely will.
