I was planning to be a meteorologist, so I took all of my calculus at community college before transferring. I can remember thinking about how Taylor series were so boring — when would I ever need to estimate a function rather than solve it? Two years later: literally everything is numerical methods. Taylor and I became besties, and model some weather together. Sometimes what you think you need to know is just wrong.
