Look for a deauth detector. On Amazon you can find an ESP8266 preflashed with deauth detection firmware and it includes a hardware buzzer. The firmware is probably something like this: https://github.com/SpacehuhnTech/DeauthDetector https://github.com/SpacehuhnTech/DeauthDetector
- mike_d 4y agoI don't know where they got the deauthing thing from. The majority of criminals are just using straight up jammers from China.
- javajosh 4y agoI can't imagine it's hard to make a jammer given that wifi is often naturally jammed. You could generate very strong signals in the correct frequency range with a modified microwave; you'd just need a way to modulate the signal to make noise, which you might be able to do physically, or by further modifying the microwave (one of those rare times you want a noisy power supply!) Of course, portability might be a problem.
- BenjiWiebe 4y agoI wonder if a standard WiFi router plus directional antenna (and set to the same band) might be enough.
- fest 4y agoStandard WiFi AP only broadcasts short identification/presence beacon frames once a second or so. With a firmware that supports TX99 (a mode where radio is transmitting all the time, typically used for testing/certification process)- easily.
- Gigachad 4y agoYou can buy esp32 boards preprogrammed with wifi deauthing from china too.
