What I'd really like to see is better standardization on network interface diagramming. Many organizations are doing just fine and well as far as the programming goes, but their undocumented network relationships are utter spaghetti, with zigzagging microservices going bananas in every direction. If folks were compelled to write it down, it would be obvious what a mess they were making, but it's all inside people's heads, where it pretends to be coherent and "obvious". And no I don't think enterprise service bus stuff helps any...
