This is the end of Twitter in my view. I am betting it will be replaced by a couple of services within a few years.

  It's already been replaced by protocols like Mastodon or ActivityPub, but nobody uses them because of the network effect.

    These protocols are a pipe dream that will live at the fringes. People want centralized, managed services.

      Then there are even more centralized competitors to choose from. The network effect still prevails regardless.
