Potential US response to Russian use of non-strategic nuclear weapons in Ukraine
- yread 4y agoOne possible response not listed is a conventional strike against military assets outside Russia and Ukraine - submarines and other naval forces, RuAF deployments in Syria or elsewhere or Russian PMCs for example in Mali.
- Ancalagon 4y agoI would hope whatever the response to a Russian nuclear attack would be, it would absolutely not be "Staying the course". That would signal weakness and that it is "ok" for not only Russia, but any other country to use nuclear weapons in a conflict as neither the US nor any other country would intervene. IMO a conventional warfare steamrolling of Russian forces by NATO allies all the way back to the Russia/Ukraine border would be an appropriate response, albeit likely an extremely unpopular one.

- sylware 4y agoIt seems the ukrainian army is advancing onto the "new"(ahem...) russian territories. This is ignoring putin's regime warnings about the usage of tactical nukes. The nuke gamble is on (Some say, putin's regime would warn 1 last time but with a nuke in the middle of the sea). That said, there are still people who do not understand that any direct conflict between NATO and putin's regime means nuclear escalation, which makes this possibility near zero to happen, so this article seems to be part of the conflict disinformation.
