The Twitter mob is just as guilty of thinking they understand everything. I think the reaction to his tweet was completely over the top. While no one wants to see Russia win anything in this war, Musk was trying to find a middle ground where the total cost is less than the alternative. What is very important right now is buying time. The sanctions alone will destroy Russia and Putin's regime if they are kept in place long term. This finger needs to be taken off the big red button and the sanctions allowed more time to do their work. His people are already beginning to turn on him. People sitting behind keyboards are always so courageous because they're insulated from reality. I don't think most people have a grasp on what a transcontinental nuclear war would look like in cold, hard reality. It would set the human race back hundreds of years. It seems to me that the pandemic and other world events in the last few years have really generated a suicidal hatred for authoritarianism across society in general. Putin should not win, but there are much better ways to make him lose than to sacrifice humanity.
