- xtracto 4y agoI like https://www.trueup.io/layoffs https://www.trueup.io/layoffs a bit more because of the stacked chart. I was [pleasantly] surprised that September layoffs were less than half of the ones in the previous month.
- greenie_beans 4y agonice! that's clever. thanks for sharing
- jt2190 4y agoI genuinely don’t understand what the purpose of such a thread would be. * Weird sense of relief? (“At least I wasn’t laid off!”) * Gloating? (“Ha! I knew that wildly successful company wasn’t so great!”) * Determine if a particular company is shrinking headcount? (Seems unreliable at best.) Something else?
- ryanSrich 4y agoI imagine it would serve a similar purpose to fucked company[1] 1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fucked_Company https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fucked_Company
- willcipriano 4y agoGood signal not to apply. I won't join a firm that has recently had layoffs for obvious reasons.
- ayewo 4y agoYou must be new here. Just kidding, just kidding :) https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31585304 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31585304 (2022) https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=22887346 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=22887346 (2020)
- jenscow 4y agoWe'd then also need a "Who wants to be fired?" post.
