Two things helped me:
1. Simple organization
2. Laid back mindset
Organization to get clarity, not to be prescriptive. To easily see things like what’s going on, when deadlines are, and what’s involved, and what you want in the first place. Organization not to set a schedule, routine, time management, or anything like that. It’s about making things simpler.
Laid back mindset so I can take it easy and get things done at the same time. Like working smart, not hard. Instead of trying to be fast, productive, efficient, take your time, be more thoughtful. It helps to naturally avoid procrastination, because the thought of doing something you don’t feel like isn’t so repulsive. You can just take your time, relax, and get it done. If you avoid feeling pressured, it makes it easier to concentrate, and do a better job.
My goal is to wake up, and not care about what day it is. I really don't want to be stressed at night. I don’t want to dread Monday or look forward to the weekend. I don’t want to be so worked up that my brain looks for distractions. I don’t want to have to hype myself up to something.
Being organized helps me see what I might wanna do when I wake up, and be at peace when I want to get some rest. Being laid back helps me to actually start doing something and even have a chance to enjoy it. It helps me to take a break when I need it, and to pick it up again later. It makes it easier to be patient when something is challenging.
