I had this observation the other day with the HN post about Mr. Beast. Never heard of that guy before that article.
That said, if the internet is at least in part a reflection of humanity’s interests, this isn’t surprising. I’m confident there’s a huge swath of things I look at or read that have never occurred to my parents. Probably less true with my wife by far, but she’s the exception not the rule.
Then there’s the other 60%+ of the internet that is SEO spam.
