Good writeup. One thing though - when possible it is best to use hashicorp package repos, this removes a lot of unnecessary actions, makes upgrades trivial and all that you have to do is: 1. Add repo for package manager of your choice 2. sudo apt/yum/dnf/pkg install nomad/consul -y 3. replace config files for installed packages.
