Not sure what the rest of the world is like but I think majority in my country consider it over.
- dexwiz 4y agoSame, it shut down hard here, but 2022 has been pretty normal outside of WFH and lingering social impacts. Since the lift of mask mandates for airplanes, very few people wear masks. We completely dropped the charade of wearing masks while walking to tables, which was in full force just a year ago.
- al_borland 4y agoI think there is a difference between people not caring anymore and it actually being over. I see a lot of the same things, but at the same time, everyone I know who has gone on vacation anywhere has come home with COVID. My mom has COVID right now and she doesn't even do anything. There is the argument that it's just a like a cold/flu now, but I know more people getting COVID than any other illness. There are also still a pretty significant number of deaths, which will likely have it it the top 5 causes of death for 2022. It's not as bad as it was at it's peak, but it doesn't feel over. We've thought it was over several times so far, and each time people started to relax, a new variant came out and cases spiked. In theory, future variants should be less life threatening than the early ones, but only time will tell.
