Libinput has genuinely been such a subpar experience for me that I'm currently still running the synaptics driver. One thing that bothers me is that not all applications support kinetic scrolling with libinput, but they do with synaptics. Configuration is fairly limited with the new driver, and I've never got it to feel right. It's been a few years since I last tried however, so I don't know if things have changed, but from what I gather it's not changed a lot over the last decade.
- sandreas 4y agoTry libinput-config[1] - it's the missing config option for libinput. It works via hook and is far from perfect, but now the kinetic scrolling is really acceptable... What can be improved: Having a hook daemon is kind of crazy to overcome the missing config Two finger (rightclick) stop scrolling does not work, one finger (leftclick) does touchpad accuracy could be better More instructions for fedora, see: https://www.reddit.com/r/Fedora/comments/qn0o9w/adjust_touchpad_scroll_speed_enable_mouse_wheel/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Fedora/comments/qn0o9w/adjust_touch...
