Let's work around the moral panic that some people might enjoy tripping for a few hours under medical recommendation and supervision by not even investigating whether existing psychedelics are a viable treatment, and instead assuming that the trip needs to be removed. It would be one thing if psychedelic treatment for mental health were widespread and the time off from work or the experience was distressing to patients. But we've skipped step one there, and it has absolutely nothing to do with how unprofitable effective psilocybin, ketamine or LSD treatments would be.
