Tell HN: The True Cost of Stripe
As a founder, I've grown tired of Stripe
- claiming to have a clear and transparent pricing, - while I've never known exactly how much Stripe charged.
I'm not alone, I know no founder who has clarity on this.
The main reason is: Stripe has 21 products, each of the product has a clear pricing, but it's unclear how many of the Stripe products you're using.
Ans each pricing is negotiable at some point.

- dadoge 4y agoSo, AWS but worse? AWS has many products, and Stripe cannot avoid have many different products. Making it more clear how many products your using should be easier (much like AWS does)…I can see it being a little harder when one product is a hodgepodge of more than one other product, but this seems like an obviously needed feature for Stripe. But… Stripe does not seem to put the customers pain points as #1, they do have a more “how do we milk the customer for every last dime” approach, which can’t last forever…I’d love to see more competition in this space
