Completely agree.
In my early twenties I felt super bad about leaving my first ever corporate job for a step up in life.
My boss pulled me aside and said “Dwolb, once you walk out of here, the people here won’t care about you for more than 5 days let alone 5 minutes.”
Totally changed my perspective on work and work relationships.
- nicbou 4y agoActually, people do remember you. Managers will remember you for a decade, and try to hire you after they move to other companies. Still, it's just work. I remember walking back into the store where I worked 6, and half the staff being fresh faces. The people might remember you, but the company won't.
