If you try playing a game or movie fullscreen you'll understand
- mattl 4y agoI don’t like to watch videos on the computer. The only time I have anything full screen is on a secondary monitor. I think it’s more of a Windows thing too. I don’t see much maximized stuff on Mac OS X.
- cantSpellSober 4y agoNope, OSX actually has fullscreen built into Finder (View > Enter Full Screen). Great for all kinds of apps; media, code, and (gasp) reading text (that has been styled by someone who knows what they're doing)! > full screen is on a secondary monitor Bizarre habit of yours! Personally, I can’t understand maximized windows on desktop at all.
- wlonkly 4y agoFinder is MacOS's file manager. It's true that MacOS offers full screen mode and lots of apps take advantage of it, but those other apps have nothing to do with Finder.
- mattl 4y agoThe other day I installed Microsoft Teams on my Mac. It opened with full screen or maximized window (I forget which) and it was horrible.
- cantSpellSober 4y agoCool. Which full screen apps do you use on a "secondary monitor?" Personally, I can’t understand maximized windows on desktop at all.
- mattl 4y agoI just use the secondary monitor for my Final Cut output when editing. Maximized windows, yeah it’s all kinda gross to me.
- cantSpellSober 4y agoMAXIMIZED Final Cut?! What a waste of screen space. You should resize that window, you're using windows incorrectly. Personally, I can’t understand maximized windows on desktop at all. Apparently you use them though.
- mattl 4y agoOne window is full screen at the output resolution and one is MacBook Pro at whatever resolution and windowed so I can switch between things. 99% of the time I don’t have an external monitor
