People don’t summit Everest in one go from 0m -> 8848m though… in a “single activity”. I don’t know how far up the Everest base camp is but it’s not on sea level. In the limit, if the height of Everest goes to infinity and the base camp is say 2000m below the summit; Everesting would become impossibly challenging.
