By the time they had fully committed to the decision to port a game to Google Stadia, they had then taken the time, money, and resources of developers and put it in a burn barrel and set it on fire. It was the "best thing that happened" because it made what would've been a guaranteed worthless waste of time anyway into something that could actually help them.
