Important to call out the TypeScriptToLua project (https://typescripttolua.github.io/ https://typescripttolua.github.io/) which is incredibly robust. This is a best of both-worlds situation -- extremely robust typing, but able to drop down to raw Lua when needed (or integrate with a blended Lua codebase), and if you're running on LuaJIT, still performant as hell. (People tend to overlook how sophisticated LuaJIT is - in many benchmarks it can keep close pace to v8)
- SuperV1234 4y agoI would love to use this in my C++ game engine. Can I somehow embed it in my C++ application without having to use Node?
- newobj 4y agoYou just compile TypeScript to Lua at build time. Then run in the Lua in your Lua VM which you've presumably embedded in your game. If you wanna do this at runtime, well, I suspect a node-like environment would be required at runtime.
