Millennials will never get a good home

  > Even the types of homes being built have helped lock out prospective new homeowners. So-called starter homes, which are ideal for first-time buyers, are growing ever more elusive as builders try to keep up with land and materials costs, government fees, and zoning restrictions that require minimum home sizes. Part of the thing here is we really need to change our idea of a "starter home". Getting a small house built on a parcel of land well-placed near an urban core just isn't a reasonable expectation any more. The starter home of today SHOULD be a reasonably sized condo with low HOA fees. But for dumb reasons it's harder to build these than detached homes in most areas.
