Looking at existing email APIs, you don't really have to run the server anymore so that's a big plus, just do storage if you really want. Sendgrid and the like with relay mail for you. Superhuman focused on the client and builds on gmail, but I think you could actually start a new email provider on the back of sengrid and others.
