Parse is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer.
Parse provides cloud services for mobile developers. Located a block from Embarcadero in San Francisco, we write backend code so that mobile developers don’t have to. As the first Site Reliability Engineer at Parse, you’ll be responsible for designing and building the systems that help our developers scale their apps, without them worrying about it.
At some companies, reliability is an afterthought. At Parse, we’re building a developer platform, so robustness is one of our core values.
About Parse:
- We move fast. We launched our private beta a little over two months after starting the company. Since then we've signed up over 4000 developers.
- We have difficult and interesting engineering and operations problems.
- We build products for other developers. You'll be your own customer.
- All of the founders are very technical engineers who have been early employees or founders at successful startups.
About you:
- You’ll be responsible for designing and building the systems that make Parse scalable and reliable.
- You should be ready to grow into a large leadership role.
- You should be an excellent problem-solver and experienced with networking, Linux, and hardware details.
- You should be ready to handle Ruby, Amazon Web Services, MongoDB, MySQL, Rails, Unicorn, and the fragmentation that is mobile networking. You don't need to know these coming in - we like generalists who can pick up anything.
We offer significant equity, market salary, health insurance, and your choice of equipment. We're based in San Francisco and at the moment we'd like people who can hack in the office with us.
