I really see no benefit for anybody. I do not know the contracts between Russia and the EU countries. Once there is no pipe, you cannot tell Russia stopped delivering gas, but they just could not, even they wanted. Little time ago there was a big discussion about a turbine, that made supply difficult. I do not know to which extent that could help Russia. Maybe somebody has more idea/information about it. But I don't think some political party would have the means for such operation.
